Churro's Contribution to the Herd:
Churro is already demonstrating his value as a sire, consistently contributing increased length, improved levelness, and notably wide rumps to his daughters. These are foundational traits that support long-term structural correctness and future productivity, all qualities we prioritize heavily in our breeding program.
His first offspring arrived in 2025, and while they are still too young to fully assess, their early structure is promising. As they mature over the coming year, we anticipate gaining a clearer picture of his influence on general appearance and functionality.
Backing up this early consistency is a dam of exceptional quality. Churro’s dam (Hidden Hills Juicy Fruit) is a deep-bodied, highly dairy doe, combining strength and openness with refinement. She also carries the highly sought-after “E” rump, reinforcing the structural integrity and rear-end correctness that Churro is now beginning to pass forward. Together, this combination positions Churro as a young sire with meaningful potential and a genetic foundation built for lasting impact.
Churro stood out from the moment he hit the ground. He was one of those rare kids that immediately commands attention. While we had not planned to retain a buck from this breeding, his quality made him difficult to overlook. That impression was quickly reinforced when Jennifer Davis of Hidden Hills Nigerians took notice of him as well, confirming what we were already seeing.
As we began to evaluate his pedigree more closely, the depth of his genetic merit became impossible to ignore. Both his dam and his sire’s dam carry an “E” rump which is a highly sought trait, and one that speaks directly to structural correctness and long-term functionality.
On his dam’s side, Churro also brings forward strong Wood Bridge Farm influence, genetics we have successfully incorporated throughout our herd and value for their consistency, balance, and proven performance. Retaining him allows us to thoughtfully fold these lines back into our program, reinforcing traits we prioritize while continuing to build on a foundation that has already proven itself. What began as an unexpected standout quickly revealed itself to be a strategic and exciting addition to our breeding program.
